ABSLTA Three Year Plan
FIRST YEAR
- Training and Workshop Officer works with the Events Officer to set up three workshops and an AGM.
- Promote Sign Language Teachers Training @ City Lit aimed at teaching potential teachers to become qualified BSL Teachers.
- Business Plan to be drawn up and to explore the feasibility of contracting self-employed people to carry out some work of the ABSLTA to relieve the pressure off the voluntary committee.
- Level One, Level Two and Level 3 resources are developed on the website.
- Meetings with the Wales Government, Scottish Government, UK/English Government and Northern Ireland Government to raise the profile of ABSLTA and put forward the case for a national register of BSL Teachers and Assessors.
- President and Patron to receive relevant information about ABSLTA to keep them informed, both to have access to the website and Facebook page.
- ABSLTA committee to organise engagement meetings with Signature and IBSL awarding bodies. Depending of the outcome of the meeting a Memorandum of Understanding could be created too.
- Annual Conference organised with Sign World.com, City Lit and ABSLTA.
SECOND YEAR
- Training and Workshop Officer works with the Events Officer to set up three workshops and an AGM.

- Once the Business Plan has been approved by the Committee to actively search for funding of a part time Director and BSL Mentoring Officer through a grant making trust.
- Director to focus on operational issues such as updating the Business Plan, core costs and engagement with the BSL Teachers and Assessors through organising regional roadshows.
- BSL Mentoring Officer to recruit ten BSL mentees throughout the UK this year. BSL Mentoring Officer to train trainees into consultative supervision rather than management supervision.
- President and Patron to receive relevant information about ABSLTA to keep them informed, both to have access to the website and Facebook page.
THIRD YEAR

- Criteria for Chair and Committee set up in readiness for election.
- Independent vetting panel will oversee the eligibility of anyone who wishes to stand for election.
- An independent election returning officer will oversee the election results.
