ABSLTA is a group that helps BSL teachers and assessors. We work to improve BSL teaching and raise awareness about BSL in the UK. We have been running since 1979!

Anyone who is Deaf and teaches or assesses British Sign Language (BSL) can become a member. We offer different membership categories, including Associate, Member, and Fellow, each with its own criteria and benefits.

As an Associate, Member, or Fellow of ABSLTA, you gain access to:

• Teaching materials and lesson plans

• Training and development opportunities

• Events to meet other BSL teachers

• Discounts on events and conferences

• Mentoring and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) opportunities

• Associate: For those who work in BSL education but don’t yet have a teaching qualification.

• Member: For those who hold a BSL teaching qualification.

• Fellow: For experienced BSL teachers (at least 10 years) who have made significant contributions to BSL education.

If your membership has been locked or deactivated, contact the Membership Team to reactivate it, then follow the steps in the video “How can I renewal my membership” to complete your renewal.

If you forget your login details, use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page to reset your password. If you continue to have trouble, please contact the Membership Team for assistance.

You can update your personal details (such as name, email, or address) by logging into your member account. Follow the steps in the video “How to Renew My Membership” to see where to find and update your account details. If you experience any issues, contact the Membership Team, and they will assist you.

If you wish to cancel your membership, the process is the same as for renewal. Detailed instructions are available in the video “How to Renew My Membership.”
