The illustration shows a diverse group of people gathered in a modern learning environment. They are seated in a semi-circle on a mix of chairs and bean bags, actively engaging in a presentation. At the front, a facilitator stands by a whiteboard with flowcharts, pointing and explaining concepts while holding a tablet. The participants are attentively listening, some taking notes on laptops. The background features dynamic, wavy lines in shades of blue, creating a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere. The scene effectively conveys a training or workshop session in an inclusive, relaxed setting.

ABSLTA Trustees recently took part in governance training to better understand their roles and responsibilities. This training was important because it was the first one since ABSLTA became a charity, helping trustees learn what they need to do in their new roles.

ABSLTA has worked with the same trainer before in 2018 and 2021. However, this year’s training was different because of the charity transition, making it important for trustees to learn about their new responsibilities.

Matt Jenkins, Chair of ABSLTA, said, “All trustees now feel more confident about their roles and know how they can help ABSLTA.”

Stuart Parkinson added, “The training was very helpful, and even experienced trustees learned something new. I highly recommend this training.”

We would like to thank the trainer for their valuable support. The trustees now feel confident and look forward to more training in the future.
