We are excited to share that our Mentoring Pilot Project, launched in September with D&H Trailblazer, has been a big success! The program is all about members supporting and mentoring each other, helping to create a stronger community and providing personal and professional growth.

Many members have already benefited from the program, receiving advice, sharing experiences, and learning from each other. One member shared, “I found this mentoring valuable and really enjoyed the high-quality support from my mentor. I highly recommend other members to sign up!”

Stuart Parkinson, our Trustee who led this mentoring project, said:
“The pilot mentoring programme is an important milestone in the history of ABSLTA and shows that we are committed to supporting Deaf BSL Teachers and Assessors in their professional journey. The pilot project will inform us about how to build on its success and make improvements where needed. Many educational professionals have a mentoring process, and we promote our ethos of mentorship for the betterment of the profession.”

We are excited to announce that we have successfully completed the first cycle of the mentoring project and are now moving into the second cycle this year! We look forward to expanding the program and supporting even more members.

Whether you need help with your BSL teaching or just want someone to guide you, the mentoring program is here to support you.

If you haven’t joined yet, it’s not too late! You can still sign up. This is a great chance to connect with experienced mentors or offer your support to others.

How to Join:
To join the Mentoring Pilot Project, simply sign up on our membership website. Whether you want to be a mentor or be mentored, there are opportunities for everyone.

We look forward to seeing the program grow and helping more members build valuable connections!
